King County Housing Authority Hires D&D Construction To Replace 50,000 Square Feet Of Roofing

​D&D Construction & Roofing is a residential and commercial roofing and construction company serving the Pacific Northwest. We take on projects from smaller residential re-roof and remodels to large County and Military projects. One of our recent large scale projects was for King County Housing Authority. After sending the job out to public bid we were selected as the contractor of choice for the project.

The Scope of Work On Corinthians Apartment

• Tear-off existing flat roof
• ​Replace all roof sheathing with 1/2" CDX plywood
• ​Install 4" of ridged insulation
• ​Install tapered insulation to achieve slope to drains
• Install Versico PVC roofing membrane, mechanically fastened with screws and plates.
• ​Provide 20 year NDL

​Ridged Polyiso Roof Top Insulation Board
​

Ridged Insulation is a roof top insulation board. It provides a thermal barrier and helps not only to insulate the building but also to keep condensation issues from occurring under the membrane as heat passes through the structure. It comes in almost any size up to 4" thick. It is typically installed in multiple layers, staggered so joints do not line up and mechanically fastened with screws and plates. It can also be fully adhered with low rise foam such as Versico's Duel Dash adhesive.

Tapered Polyiso Ridged Insulation Board

​Tapered polyiso is used to create a positive slope and help migrate water to drain locations on the roof. It also contributes to the R value or insulation value for energy purposes. Tapered iso on top of the base layer of iso helps create a bullet proof thermal and insulation barrier that helps keep the building energy efficient and condensation free.

Versico PVC Roofing Membrane Systems

PVC membrane roofing systems are one of the best flat roofing solutions in the market today. While PVC had it's problems in the past the new chemical formulations have proven themselves and the membranes are lasting and outperforming expectations. PVC is used for pool liners and many waterproofing applications. The membrane is attached by screws and plates and welded at the seam by a robotic walkable welder to ensure the right amount of heat per second is applied for the perfect weld. This weld becomes a monolithic bond and when welded properly is waterproof for decades. We specialize in membrane roof installations and have the experience and proper equipment to install any job to manufacturers specification.
